Kea Parish Council has been progressing a project to create an improved pedestrian route near Kea School.
The project developed from concerns about children getting in and out of vehicles close to traffic. Earlier Council reports described proposals to purchase a strip of land and create a footpath so that children could leave parked vehicles without stepping directly into oncoming traffic.
The scheme has continued to progress through planning and project-development stages. In October 2025 the Council reported that £60,000 of grant funding had been secured for the project, with planning permission still pending at that point and further documentation including ecological and tree surveys being prepared.
